Raised as siege battery with Edict N° 5/11 January 1890 in Shumen

Transferred to Vidin on 30 April 1891 and renamed Vidinska fortress battery

Raised with Decree N° 1/1 January 1892 as Vidinski Fortress Battalion from the Vidinska fortress battery

Became Vidinski Fortress Regiment with Decree N° 96/31 December 1914

11 September 1915 : designed 3rd Vidinski Fortress Artillery Regiment

21 September 1915 : designed 3rd Heavy Artillery Regiment
